What IB score is required for NYU?

New York University in the United States of America necessitates students to have a minimum IB of 38 to stand a better opportunity to get admitted to the university.

Does NYU accept IB?

NYU accepts the IB diploma. They also accept other examinations and qualifications from different parts of the world.

Still, they have a standardized test, and students must show proof of their high school education. 

Can I get into NYU with 38 IB?

The average IB score to get into NYU is 38.7, which is moderately competitive. But the school accepts 50% of IB applicants every year. 

Does NYU care about the IB diploma?

To be considered for admission, the applicants need to submit either their SAT, ACT or IB scores to be considered for admission.

Moreover, NYU does accept the IB diploma predicted score or the scores from the final exams (the Extended Essay and TOK are not included.)

NYU Abu Dhabi Entry Requirements

You can also gain entry to NYU in Abu Dhabi with the IB diploma. Applicants need to have three HL exam scores.

IB credit/advanced standing may be awarded if:

  • Received scores of 6 or 7 on higher-level exams
  • Tests are taken before graduation
  • Points awarded per exam area: up to 8

Note: Results must be sent directly from the College Board (NYU code is 2562) or the International Baccalaureate Organization.

You will need your NetID and Password. When logging in, you should be aware of the security challenges and ensure you do not fall for phishing scams. 

NYU Email (Google)

NYU Email (Google) provides @nyu.edu email accounts for the whole NYU community, which includes instructors and students.

It gives you access to more apps on Google. From Drive and Docs to Chat and Spaces, NYU Email is the primary resource for collaborating with classmates and colleagues.

Getting Started

To get this, you need your official NYU address. To get started, log into your NYU Email at email.nyu.edu.

Ensure that you remember your NetID used for your email with your University Identification Number (N-number). Remember that the N-number is the University equivalent of a social security number, so it should be kept top secret!

Tips and Tools

To have the best experience, you should access the email using your desktop browser or mobile app.

Avoid using desktop apps as they are not supported by the university as do not provide the best experience, and cannot filter spam. 

If you want to access other Google apps, click on the dot matrix, and you can access 

Drive (Docs, Slides, and Sheets), Calendar, and Groups

Don’t Fall for Phishing Attempts

You may receive messages even from NYU or the IT department asking for your name, birth date and password. Beware of such because NYU will never ask you for your password. 

Always be on the watch for such emails and scam attempts, and if you receive one, please ensure that you report the suspicious emails to phishing@nyu.edu.

Reusing NYU Classes Content in NYU Brightspace

If you are a faculty member and would like to reuse existing NYU Classes content within NYU Brightspace, this content will be easily accessible within the NYU Brightspace system.

NYU IT will automatically transition NYU Classes courses from 2019 forward to NYU Brightspace.

You can reference this content to copy materials into your current or future course offerings.
